Long before any of this was about software, it was about showing up. I spent my time in public service — as a firefighter here in Southwest Florida — the kind of work where someone's worst day is your job to handle, and you don't get to phone it in.
That's where I learned what it actually means to serve: you answer the call, every time, no excuses. That mindset never left me. Honestly, it's the whole reason No Code-AI exists.
Then I built something of my own
I'm a small business owner, same as the people I build for. I started a pressure-washing company — Burnt Store Pressure Pros — out in the Florida heat. Blue-collar work, doing it all myself. I'm not a Silicon Valley guy.
And I ran straight into the problem every owner knows too well: a call comes in while you're up on a roof or at dinner with your family, you miss it, and that job's gone to the next guy. I was great at the actual work. I was drowning in everything around it — the follow-ups, the scheduling, the tools that didn't talk to each other.
So I taught myself to automate it
I started building little systems to answer my own calls and chase my own follow-ups. And it worked — I stopped losing customers. I fell in love with the building part, and I kept going deeper until I realized the same system that saved my business could save anybody's.
I came at this from the customer's side first — as the guy sweating the missed call, not some engineer who'd never run a business — and I think that's exactly why it works.
